Job summary
We welcome applicants who have a RNMH or RNLD qualification, a current professional registration with the NMC and significant experience working with people who have complex mental ill health, as well as demonstrable experience in leadership and management.
The job is to operationally manage Wold View, an 18 bed ward for older people experiencing acute and complex, organic mental ill health. Wold View is based within Foss Park Hospital and is co located with its partner ward for patients with functional mental ill health.
As a Ward Manager in NYY MHSOP you will be part of a locality wide team of 4 Wards Managers supported by 2 Modern Matrons and will have daily support, access to leadership training, continuing professional development and supervision.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the 24/7 operational management of the ward and effective line management of an experienced multi-disciplinary ward team. You will be working collectively with the leadership team, have professional accountability and responsibility for the delivery of high-quality clinical care, providing the best possible experience for patients, their carers and families.

Qualifications and Professional Registration

1. Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council (RMN / RNMH / RNLD)
2. Be educated to Master's level in a subject area relevant to the area of practice OR
3. Have equivalent clinical experience to that of master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience - which also includes significant experience of managing people. (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD
4. Be trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision
5. Be a Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor
