Our client is hiring for another Mechanical Engineering Technician after successfully securing a candidate - Would you be the third hire to join their busy maintenance team?
The Mechanical Engineering Technician will take up the position for our client based near Cardiff.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Healthcare + Pension + Callout

Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the SHE department to ensure the highest levels of Safety, Health, and Environment performance at all times for all maintenance activities on site.
2. Support maintenance engineering activities to recover from unplanned stoppages, plus provide first-up information gathering and problem solving.
3. Work collaboratively with all departments to continuously improve plant Reliability / OEE performance through FMEA / RCM studies, and optimize PM / PdM programs to improve MTBF and MTTR.
4. Support the MRO Stores Controller to ensure that inventory is optimized to meet reliability and plant performance.
5. Collaborate within the engineering departments to lead a team of contractors for maintenance and capital project activities during plant outages.
6. Provide detailed reporting of equipment using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Background:
1. NVQ / Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Practical knowledge of maintenance & reliability tools and systems including FMEA, RCM, conditioning monitoring, and CMMS.
3. Hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, pipelines, boilers, vessels, and exchangers.
4. Practical knowledge of systems such as alignment techniques, ultrasonics, vibration analysis, and thermography.
5. Knowledge of pressure systems, confined space, risk assessments, and hot work permits.
6. Ability in reporting procedures, plus the ability to assess, improve, and implement maintenance workflow practices.
