Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse/Practitioner

The post is accountable to the IPAC Matron for the day-to-day IP&C management across NCHC and to an ongoing improvement in the quality of the patient's experience.
The post holder has a responsibility to monitor and act upon standards of Infection Prevention & Control that fall below the acceptable standard and legislative responsibilities.
This position is involved in ensuring Trust complies with its legislative and licensing requirements, i.e. The Health and Social Care Act 2008, and for the provision of specialist advice and guidance for all health care professionals and support staff across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
To act as a subject matter expert (SME) demonstrating advanced knowledge and skill beyond that associated with traditional nursing roles, including the integration of research evidence into practice by expert clinical reasoning and decision making.
As an acknowledged expert in the provision of patient management in relation to Infection Prevention & Control, the post holder will, where required, make independent clinical decisions, initiate investigations, and be responsible for advising on the management of defined group/groups of patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or other registered clinical qualification
* Master's degree in Infection Control (or willingness to begin within 1 year of appointment)
* Evidence of IPS competencies
* ENB 998 or C&G 730
* Management or leadership qualification
Experience
* Experience of working in IPAC
* Experience of working in community-based services
Skills
* Ability to analyse complex information and use own judgement to problem solve
* Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
* Ability to develop and deliver training programmes
* Assertive and able to deal with colleagues, patients and the public at all levels

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum pro rata
