Job title: Category Manager - Supply Chain
Location: Leicester/Hybrid
Duration: 6 months

The Role:
The role will develop and execute Category Strategies for Supply Chain solutions across various Business Units. This highly strategic and critical area requires very close alignment and engagement with senior internal Commercial/Operational stakeholders and large strategic external suppliers to execute procurement projects to achieve the best commercial outcome.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish a wave plan of procurement activity taking into account new business requirements, business strategy, emerging risks, and expiring contracts with suppliers.
2. Apply strong understanding of market dynamics (using tools such as Porters Five Forces and Kraljic), and cost drivers.
3. Create go-to-market strategies working with business stakeholders.
4. Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to maximize the impact of the Category Strategy.
5. Lead and execute complex high-value tenders in line with the Category Strategy.
6. Lead commercial negotiations for complex deals managing varying demands of multiple stakeholders.
7. Lead contract drafting and negotiation in collaboration with appropriate Legal teams.
8. Development of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activity in line with the SRM framework.
9. Project Manage procurement projects including all aspects of risk management and contract governance process in collaboration with business stakeholders (Group Contracts Committee and Investment Committee).
10. Manage, lead, and coach category specialists supporting the Business and wider group categories.
11. Manage and optimize the supplier base within the category including buying channels and category playbooks to enable ease of stakeholder buying.
12. Establish strong relationships and be viewed as a key business partner to the stakeholder group.
13. Collaborate across the Procurement Function to deliver the best experience for stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. Significant Direct Procurement experience in Supply Chain.
2. Significant experience of performing end-to-end Category Management activities for large and complex companies.
3. Proven ability to think laterally, globally, and creatively to drive additional value for the business.
4. Strong ability to influence at all levels of the organization with evidence of building trust across large organizations.
5. Progressive experience in leading Category Management initiatives inclusive of supplier management for companies spending more than £1bn annually.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of significant cost reductions in goods and services related to indirect spend.
8. Strong internal customer influence and change management skills.
9. Demonstrated leadership qualities (i.e. enthusiasm, decisiveness, strategic thinking, change agent).
10. Track record of delivering long-term value within a Procurement environment.
