Job summary We are a large reception/prescription team of 15 members over two sites. The Senior receptionist is responsible for the efficient leadership and direction of the reception team, ensuring all administrative duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice. Main duties of the job a. Overseeing the reception team and supporting operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities b. Leading the reception team with the support and guidance of the Reception/Admin manager, supporting staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training c. Completing staff appraisals/reviews as required d. Identifying and delivering team training where required e. Compiling reception staff rotas f. Implementing and embedding efficient office processes and procedures to adhere to extant legislation g. Coordinating reception staff ensuring sufficient cover is provided for periods of leave and other staff absences h. Updating GPteamnet to reflect leave and other approved absences i. Providing initial guidance and advice to patients who wish to verbally complain j. Managing the phone / phone system k. Managing Tasks l. Managing the Pathology Inbox m. Managing the accurx system / patient triage About us We are a large practice of 7 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 7 member of the Nursing team, 15 receptionists, 5 administrators and 3 secretaries. Monitor and promote the use of the Friends and Family Test f. Champion continuous improvement, encouraging staff to participate and make suggestions for CI initiatives g. Assist with QOF targets h.
