Start date: Feb 2025Turner Lovell is recruiting for an international EPC contractor who deliver multiple high-profile renewable energy projects throughout the UK. We are recruiting a Senior Site Manager - HVDC with proven experience working from pre-construction to completion on HVDC convertor projects.
The successful candidate will be the a Senior Site Manager - HVDC for a +£500m construction build with international project engineering interfaces and suppliers. In this role, you will lead the projects from civil construction through to M&E installation and handover. You will be supported by other site managers, supervisors and HVDC experts to install and commission the specialist equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity to at the forefront of energy transition and the pipeline of HVDC infrastructure projects. This is a long-term assignment, with job security, and is open to career contractors or employees looking for their first freelance assignment.
Duties:
Lead the ongoing construction and M&E activities for various high value project scopes.
Provide subject matter expertise in the construction of HVDC converters and AC grid connection activities.
Day to day management of all on site activities, providing people and HSE leadership to other site managers, site supervisors, subcontractors as PC Rep.
Be the point of contact for client interface and general site management tasks.
Coordinate with different stakeholders and provide regular reports to: clients project representatives, internal engineering teams
Manage and provide QC& HSE inspection of subcontractors during different phases of the project.
Provide support to senior Project Managers to monitor, track, and report progress of the team against project programme and budget.The Person:
Experience working on HVDC convertor projects is essential
Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related course
At least 10 years' experience as a Site Manager within large civil construction projects +£50m
Proven track record at Principal Contractor delivering projects safely, within budget and time.
Expert understanding of CDM regulations
Relevant site safety courses such as: CCNSG Safety Passport, SMSTS Course, IOSH Managing Safely & Environmental courses
