About the Role:
North Yorkshire Council has a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for a SEND Assistant EHC Caseworker. The Directorate has established an Integrated SEND Service (0-25) to provide an improved experience for children and young people with SEND and their families.
This is an exciting time to join the SEND service. In this role, you will maintain a caseload of identified young people and provide a professional, effective, and supportive service to parents of children undergoing assessments. You will implement statutory duties and understand the Children and Families Act (2014) and procedures relating to the statutory review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disability.
You will update education, health, and care plans following reviews, organize, attend, and contribute to meetings, and discuss specific issues associated with the needs and provisions of individual pupils.
About You:
We would like you to have an understanding of educational, SEND, and Inclusion legislation. You should be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in a professional, effective, and responsive manner and possess excellent organizational skills to carry out the role to a high standard.
Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.
