Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust
At our brand new Stroke Unit at Westbrook House in Margate, we are looking for a skilled and caring Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team.
Our patients are supported on their road to recovery and independence, with a daily programme of therapy tailored to their individual needs. This includes supporting people to improve their mobility and regain skills such as washing, dressing, eating meals, and communicating, helping them to return home.
We work closely with the acute stroke unit at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. People who no longer need to be in an acute hospital but are not yet ready to go home will have a short period of specialist inpatient rehabilitation.
Main duties of the job
You will play an important role in supporting our patients with their recovery, helping them with delegated therapy activities such as therapeutic moving and handling and personal care practice. Training will also be provided in all elements of stroke care and rehabilitation.
We run a 24-hour internal rotation, so you will need to be able to work a mixture of shift patterns.
We believe in developing our staff from within, so we always have lots of opportunities for extra training and learning to help you develop your career in healthcare.

As a flexible working-friendly organization, we want you to be able to work in a way that is best for us, for our patients, and for you. Talk to us about a flexible working arrangement that won't involve sacrificing time for personal interests or family commitments. We'll support you to work flexibly in a way that suits us both.
