Join our team as a Transport Manager and make a difference!
We are entering into a very exciting time for Oneline; this role is pivotal for our operation to function. We have around 70+ vehicles that you need to take care of!
Your main aim is to lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Fleet Management System, ensuring our fleet is roadworthy and operating in accordance with legal requirements, whilst maximizing utilization and availability of our resources. You will work with operational managers to maintain and support a culture of safe drivers, ensuring vehicles operate as safe and reliable.
More about the role:
1. Responsibility for running and maintenance of the fleet (Vans and HGV).
2. Oversee in-house maintenance team & workshop, and safety equipment.
3. Responsible for transport license for Swansea and South West Environmental services.
4. Ensure that the requirements of the Company's Operators License are maintained, advising operational managers of any discrepancies, improvements, and actions.
5. Coordinate the planning of statutory inspections, MOTs servicing and maintenance, liaising with operational managers to ensure understanding and compliance.
6. Monitor and audit vehicle and plant defects, ensuring vehicles and equipment are kept in a safe and roadworthy condition. Auditing Defect Books and ensuring these are being completed accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Monitor and audit driver's hours ensuring that records are completed accurately and in a timely manner and that compliance is achieved.
8. Ensure vehicle tax and compliance requirements are reviewed and kept up to date.
9. Produce, update, and maintain all fleet-related information and accreditations, including Insurance Vehicle Schedules, reports, Operators License, MOT + Service, Plant Equipment, trailers, FORS.
10. Oversee the servicing and maintenance schedule of equipment/plant, liaising with operational managers to ensure the fleet is available.
About you:
We ideally need you to be qualified or working towards being a CPC Transport Manager, and well-versed in managing a fleet in a fast-paced operating environment. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, alongside the ability to educate operational managers while building rapport and robust working relationships.
