Job Responsibilities
1. To provide support to the Cancer Delivery Manager with sustaining, improving and delivering cancer services in-line with National and Network level Standards.
2. To provide day to day management of the Cancer Pathway Co-ordinators & Cancer Administrators.
3. To lead on provision of weekly and monthly Trust performance reports against the National Cancer Waiting Times Standards and to quality assure Cancer data and reports.
4. To lead on provision of clinical performance information and to quality assure Cancer Centre data and reports.
5. To lead on the capture of data for Local, Network and National Clinical Audits.
6. To coordinate the delivery of the Cancer Accreditation Peer Review Continual Assessment Programme for the Trust.
7. To support the Business Units in sustaining Cancer Waiting Times by working with the Business Units to address Cancer Pathway Delivery issues.
8. To provide support to the Cancer Centre Manager relating to Cancer Service initiatives as required.
9. To provide system administration for the Somerset Cancer Register used for cancer data capture.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Responsible for the day to day management and prioritisation of workloads of the Cancer Pathway Co-ordinator and Administrators.
2. To lead on the training of Cancer Pathway Co-ordinators and Administrators.
3. Create, plan and carry forward training packages to ensure that the Cancer Team receive the correct teaching to allow the development of audit processes. Also, identify gaps in training needs and work with the Cancer Delivery Manager to ensure these gaps are filled.
4. Contribute to the specification of new Cancer Information systems and ensure that they are capable of meeting local and national requirements. Together with the Information Dept and ICT, support the Cancer Delivery Manager with the implementation of new software and support the process of acceptance testing to ensure that both business and user requirements are met.
5. To be responsible for the system administration and access rights of the Cancer Wait Times system, including validation of cancer wait times records prior to upload onto Open Exeter.
6. To support the Cancer MDT Leads and their teams with the delivery of cancer services to the required Cancer Peer Review Accreditation levels.
7. Be aware of current issues such as the Trust IT strategy, EPR, National Cancer Information Strategy, National Cancer Minimum Dataset such that any further development on cancer systems remains in line with current issues.
8. To assist the Cancer Delivery Manager with other cancer service developments as required.
