Finance Officer - Children in Care and Care Experienced Finance Team
Fixed Term for 12 months

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced environment supporting social care and finance professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Weekly checking and validating of all payments set up via our placement payment system, ensuring appropriate follow up for any that do not align with finance polices.
2. Checking, amending and uploading payment runs for Fostering, Adoption and Kinship placements, Care Experienced payments and external providers into the corporate finance system.
3. Identification and recovery of overpayments to placement providers
4. Training lead for finance administrators, including delivery of training and producing induction and training materials
5. Key point of contact for external placement providers including resolution of complex payment queries/disputes
6. Finance liaison for the Place Called Home Team, including attendance at weekly team meetings to share updates on placements, resolve queries that are causing payment issues and deliver any training they require to support payments being made for placements
7. Administrator of alternative payment methods utilised by Childrens Social Care to support Children in Care and Care Experienced young people.
8. Monitoring of income streams supporting post 18 accommodation arrangements.
Alongside excellent attention to detail you will need to have an aptitude for ICT based systems including a good knowledge and application of spreadsheet, database and word processing packages. The ability to communicate confidently and prioritise your workload is essential along with the capacity to work using your own initiative and have a flexible approach.
