GSL Education are actively looking for a qualified Teacher who has experience working with young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) behavioral needs. At GSL, we have a great reputation in the area and are renowned for our professional and personable service.
The school, based in Wolverhampton, is particularly close to the City Centre and is easy to access by car or public transport. Currently, the school is looking for the right candidate to work full-time across the whole school, with experience in Key Stage 1, 2, 3, and 4. The school itself only has 20 children but they are looking to expand in the new academic year.
The potential candidate is required to be an experienced SEN Teacher having had substantial involvement dealing with young children with mental health and challenging behavior due to their backgrounds. The role may become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Create and develop Learning Plans and timetables for pupils.
* Plan, design, and deliver an innovative curriculum focused on the complex needs of pupils.
* Liaise with other colleagues to plan and prepare for pupils to successfully assess.
* Work with colleagues in developing their pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
* Devise and apply criteria for evaluating success with pupils who experience BESD which impacts upon their learning and enables them to access the curriculum.
* Take responsibility for tracking pupil progress and for collecting and monitoring data to support teaching and learning.
* Deliver and facilitate dynamic, creative, and active lessons.
* Identify resources required to sustain and embed high-quality subject delivery.
* Deliver lessons to children aged 11 – 18 years.
Requirements
* Teachers – to hold, or be willing to work towards, QTS/QTLS.
* Tutors – to have a degree or equivalent and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification.
* Proven track record of raising attainment, supporting behavioral challenges, and demonstrating high levels of pastoral care.
* Enthusiastic about alternative education methodologies.
* A commitment to holistic student development.
* Ready to bring fresh ideas and creativity to the classroom and outside it.
* Passionate about making a positive impact on students’ lives.
* A good understanding of the national curriculum – English, Maths, and Science.
* Science background and knowledge of teaching is essential.
