Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Oversee and guide the technical team, implementing effective processes, systems, and standards to ensure smooth project execution.
* EV Charge Point Expertise: Lead the technical implementation of EV charge points, ensuring that installations meet all safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
* Documentation & Project Planning: Develop and review scope documents, tenders, and pricing proposals for clients and subcontractors.
* Bill of Materials Oversight: Ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness in project materials, driving value engineering where possible.
* Collaboration with Sales & Support: Work closely with sales and technical support teams to assist customers through the technical survey and purchasing processes of EV charge points.
* Supplier & DNO Liaison: Serve as the technical expert when engaging with equipment suppliers, contractors, and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure feasibility and compliance in all technical aspects.
* DNO Application Management: Oversee the DNO application process and provide regular updates on progress.
* Compliance & Operations Support: Coordinate with operations teams to ensure that all technical, safety, environmental, and legislative standards are met on all projects.
* Project Transition Management: Act as a bridge between technical teams and field operations, ensuring smooth transitions from survey to installation, maintaining time lines, and upholding Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate the risks, challenges, and opportunities associated with electrical installations in collaboration with operations and support teams.
* Training Development: Own and refine the technical training process for both customer service and technical support teams, ensuring a high level of knowledge across the organisation.
* Project Management: Demonstrate strong project management skills by overseeing the execution of technical projects within fast-paced, dynamic environments while adhering to company processes, procedures, and statutory obligations.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualifications: A BSc in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent NVQ Level 3-7) with relevant industry experience.
* Experience: Previous experience in managing teams, with a strong technical focus, especially in the electrical or EV sectors.
* Project Management Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from start to finish, with attention to detail in technical aspects.
* Industry Knowledge: Experience with tendering, pricing, and the DNO application process in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
* Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of grid infrastructure, low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, and EV charging standards is preferred.
* Preferred: Familiarity with BS7671 and IET guidelines for EV charging installations.
* Additional: Degree-educated or Chartered status is highly desirable.
