We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated qualified Sonographer on a permanent contract to join our busy, friendly team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. This is a future focused post designed to provide the postholder with a training and progression plan to become a fully independent Consultant Breast Radiographer within the Breast Services Team. You must be willing to work to the identified development plan and remain flexible to be able to meet the demands of both ultrasound and breast services.

The Clinical Support and Screening Business Unit is committed to training and development and encourages all aspects of CPD. Applications are invited from highly motivated sonographers who can demonstrate a specific interest in breast imaging and the knowledge and skills necessary to progress and become a fully independent Consultant Breast Radiographer within a well-supported team environment., To work as a sonographer within the ultrasound team. Responsible for producing high quality ultrasound images within the radiology service both at QEH and satellite diagnostic sites; delivering a first class service meeting the needs of referrers and patients.
To perform and independently report on a comprehensive range of ultrasound protocols in accordance with departmental protocols while maintaining the highest quality of patient care and imaging.
To train and develop successfully towards independent practice as a Consultant Breast Radiographer.
You must hold a a UK recognised Pg Certificate inMedical Ultrasound, additional ultrasound qualifications would be desirable and you must have at least 2 year's experience working in the NHS.
