About Us:
Tre Uchaf Primary School is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all our students. Our Specialist Teaching Facility is designed to cater to the unique needs of children requiring additional support. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in our Specialist Teaching Facility for 2 days a week. The successful candidate will support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs, assist with the personal care needs of students, and help create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering individualised development plans (IDPs).
2. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
3. Help with the personal care needs of students, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
5. Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher.
6. Support students during transitions and break times.
7. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being and development of all students.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience working with children, particularly those with severe and complex additional learning needs, is preferred.
2. A compassionate and patient approach to working with children.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. A good understanding of child development and educational practices.
6. Relevant qualifications in education or childcare is essential.
Working Hours:
2 days a week (Thursday and Friday). Temporary position from January 2025 to August 2025.
