About theRole:
We are seeking aninspirational and highly motivated Lead Practitioner of Maths tolead and develop our Maths department. The successful candidatewill be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven trackrecord of raising attainment a passion for mathematics and acommitment to developing innovative teaching practices. You willhave the vision and leadership skills to inspire colleagues anddrive the department forward.
KeyResponsibilities:
* Leadingand managing the Maths department including curriculum developmentassessment and staff development
* Monitoring andevaluating the quality of teaching and learning inMaths
* Providing coaching and mentoring tocolleagues in the Maths department
* Leadinginitiatives to raise attainment in Maths across theschool
* Modelling outstanding teaching practiceand sharing best practice withcolleagues
* Contributing to the wider schoolimprovement agenda
TheIdealCandidate:
* QualifiedTeacher Status (QTS)
* A strong academicbackground in Mathematics
* Excellent subjectknowledge and a passion for teachingMaths
* Proven experience of successfully leadingand managing a team
* A track record of raisingattainment in Maths
* Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills
* A commitment to innovationand continuous improvement in teaching andlearning
* A passion for the performing arts andan understanding of how Maths can contribute to students creativedevelopment
