Are you keen to work in an interesting and innovative environment, delivering maintenance support to the teaching of the undergraduate, postgraduate, and qualified dental professionals? Do you have effective communication skills and are able to work in a team as well as showing initiative to work on your own? Are you enthusiastic with a desire to learn and contribute to a busy department?
You will be responsible for providing technical support to the clinical skills courses which take place in the clinical skills classrooms of the School of Dentistry. You will ensure that equipment and consumables are available and working in the classrooms to ensure the sessions run smoothly. You will also undertake the general maintenance of the laboratory, dental equipment and phantom head simulators. You will work collaboratively with other technicians, clinical tutors/teachers, and support staff. Experience of the repair of dental simulators and associated dental equipment would be advantageous, but a general engineering/maintenance background would also be considered.
Occasional Saturday working to cover courses on an overtime basis would be required from time to time.
