Job overview
The Estates Directorate is seeking to recruit a skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to join the Estates Corporate Services Team.
The successful candidate will support in managing the performance of one of the largest PFI contracts in the region, providing a unique experience and opportunity to develop within the organisation, whilst supporting clinical staff to deliver the highest standard of patient care.
37 hours 30 minutes/week
Main duties of the job
* Manage PFI partners for engineering, technical and compliance matters at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital.
* Lead projects, compliance auditing, and decarbonisation initiatives related to engineering services.
* Assist and support the Associate Director and Operational Manager in leading, managing and developing quality procedures regulating facilities services across the Trust’s PFI Estate.
* Drive continuous improvement in service delivery to enhance the patient environment.
* Ensure that all estates services are responsive to meet the changing needs of the Trust.
* Review and scrutinise the PFI’s monthly performance report.
* Produce feasibility reports and business case reports as requested.
* Organise, attend and chair the monthly Service performance Group meetings.
* Develop and implement an audit programme for all estates services.
Person specification
Qualifications & Education
* Minimum of a degree in a related field (or equivalent qualification/experience).
* A supplemental qualification such as membership of a professional body in building services or estates.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
Knowledge & Experience
* A sound knowledge of national standards relating to facilities services.
* Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of engineering services in a large acute hospital site.
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to lead and inspire others.
