We are a leading British manufacturer of individually designed, beautifully hand-crafted, bespoke furniture and architectural joinery. Established in 1992, the company has earnt an enviable reputation for undertaking only the most specialist and high-end of projects both in the UK and abroad.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. We are currently seeking an experienced technical joinery designer/CAD technician to join our design office on a full-time, permanent basis.
2. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will translate initial client briefs into high-quality, well-considered, detailed technical drawings for client approval and subsequent manufacture. You will take ownership of all design-related aspects of a project and will use your experience and skills to contribute to the development of the design office's systems and working methods.
3. We are looking for a proactive and highly motivated individual with a deep and extensive knowledge of bespoke joinery construction and manufacture combined with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with clients, sub-contractors, and our in-house production and project management teams.
4. The high-end bespoke nature of our work ensures you will play a key role in helping to deliver exceptional joinery packages; none two of which are ever the same.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Inventor or similar CAD software within a professional furniture, cabinetry or specialist joinery environment.
2. Extensive knowledge of furniture and joinery construction and manufacturing processes. Ideally, this would also include knowledge of metalwork, stone, glass, solid surface, and upholstery.
3. A positive and tenacious attitude, good work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and an eagerness to learn and develop.
4. Good commercial awareness.
5. Experience of designing for CNC-manufacture would be advantageous.
6. Ability to work as part of a team.
7. Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks within a fast-paced and often fluid environment.
Details:
The role will be largely office-based at our Berkhamsted manufacturing facility, but the successful candidate must be willing to occasionally travel for site visits and client meetings when required (predominately London-based). #J-18808-Ljbffr
