Job Title: Storeman Location: Maghera Department: Warehouse/Inventory Management Reports to: Project Manager Employment Type: Full-time Salary Range: Negotiable on experience Job Purpose The Storeman is responsible for the effective handling, organisation, and distribution of goods within the warehouse. This role ensures inventory accuracy, maintains efficient stock management practices, and supports the smooth operation of the warehouse. The Storeman works closely with the warehouse team to manage stock levels, maintain a safe work environment, and ensure the timely dispatch and receipt of goods. Key Responsibilities Stock Management Receive, check, and record deliveries of goods, verifying the quality and quantity of items. Organise stock in designated storage areas according to company procedures. Maintain an accurate record of stock, conducting regular stock counts and audits to prevent discrepancies. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the necessary suppliers for replenishment or reordering of items. Inventory Control Track stock movements, including incoming and outgoing items. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual stock audits to ensure data accuracy. Report any stock discrepancies, damages, or missing items to the Warehouse Manager or Inventory Control Supervisor. Order Fulfilment Load and unload goods as required, adhering to safety and efficiency standards. Safety and Maintenance Comply with health and safety standards, ensuring the warehouse is safe, clean, and organised. Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and responsibly. Conduct regular checks and maintenance of storage areas and equipment. Documentation and Reporting Complete relevant paperwork for deliveries, dispatches, and inventory records. Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, updating the inventory system as required. Generate reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and other inventory-related information for management review. Qualifications and Skills Essential: Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory management. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft packages specifically Excel. Physical Ability: Ability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items safely. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management abilities with high attention to detail. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Licensing: Valid forklift license and C license category. Desirable: Experience in a similar role within utilities sector. Basic understanding of stock-taking and audit processes. Certification in inventory management or warehouse operations. Key Competencies Reliability: Consistently dependable in following through with tasks and ensuring accuracy. Working Conditions Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and operate warehouse machinery.
