We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Westminster to assist with the appointment of an Independent Reviewing Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £25.64 - £39.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
* To chair statutory looked after review meetings on behalf of the Child Care Review Unit in order to meet all statutory requirements and effectively complete each child's review process within statutory timescales.
* To promote full and active participation of children, young people, their birth families and carers in review meetings.
* To work across all the social work teams to ensure that individual care plans are based on a detailed and informed assessment, are up to date, effective and provide a genuine response to each child's needs.
* To ensure that young people's participation in reviews is assessed on a yearly basis, and an agreement is reached with the young person as to how they will participate in their reviews.
* To effectively and swiftly address any concerns identified within care planning about potential drift or social work practice concerns through firstly informal discussions with the social worker and their manager. If this is not successful then to use the IRO Problem Resolution Protocol to achieve resolution with the responsible senior manager. All such concerns to be fully recorded on the ICS system.
Qualifications:
* CQSW or post graduate Diploma in Social Work and substantial years post-qualifying experience in children and families social care work, including experience at management level.
* Health and Care Professions Council registration.
* Clear enhanced DBS check.
