Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of commercial building products, has an immediate need for an experienced Construction Site Manager, to join our winning team in Bristol.
The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of a fast-paced manufacturing site, which may include multiple shifts. Responsibilities include overall site performance, establishing and maintaining business objectives, ensuring compliance with local and federal environmental responsibilities, growing and developing the business, and leading a competent and engaged team. Prior experience overseeing a P&L is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure excellence through the 5 plant fundamentals of safety, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, productivity, and quality.
* Meet expected financial returns, company, and site goals.
* Drive a site culture focused on excellence across all functions and personnel roles.
* Leverage best practices across sites, sharing new practices and learning from others.
* Engage in activities to grow the business by maximizing output and minimizing cost while balancing quality and customer service.
* Ensure BOMs are correct, and product is manufactured within BOM cost and quality commitments.
* Organize yard, manage product rotation, and handle obsolete or excessive inventory.
* Work with EH&S Manager to ensure compliance with all local and federal environmental regulations.
* Spend at least 60% of time on the floor, interacting with plant teams and leadership.
* Ensure internal control guidelines are followed by the site.
* Assist with preparation of annual production budget and capital project requests.
* Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress, including P&L’s, Daily Production Reports, BI dashboards, Vorne XL boards, and other OPS reports and tools.
* Implement all OPS initiatives at the site.
* Hold self and employees accountable for creating and implementing best practices.
* Recruit, develop, and mentor a strong site staff for efficient day-to-day operations.
* Direct and monitor the work of direct reports according to business plans, site, and individual goals.
* Develop training programs to promote employee engagement.
* Leverage standardized skills matrices and customized job interviews to ensure consistency in hiring talent.
* Ensure top quality products that meet on-time delivery expectations.
* Develop technical knowledge by learning from employees.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years as a plant manager in a similar industry or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* Ability to review and discuss results of production reports and P&L statements.
* Knowledge of construction products and basic knowledge of electronics and programmable controllers preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of OSHA and safety procedures.
* Purchasing experience preferred.
* Ability to train and instruct employees.
