Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Architecture) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is integral to the Submarine Solutions business and involves a hybrid working arrangement with the location in Barrow or Filton.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining model-based systems engineering (MBSE) architecture for submarine systems.
Utilising modelling tools to create and manage systems models.
Ensuring system architecture aligns with overall project requirements and standards.
Collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate system models into the broader engineering environment.
Providing technical leadership and guidance within the systems engineering domain.
Reviewing and approving systems engineering documentation and deliverables.
Conducting technical assessments and evaluations to support project decisions.
Coordinating with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines and deliverables.
Job Requirements:
Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
Proficiency with modelling tools.
Understanding of systems engineering principles and best practices within the defence sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working model, spending 2 days on-site per fortnight.
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
