Modus Careers is partnering with a respected design-led manufacturing business, renowned for producing high-quality point-of-sale displays and retail solutions. As the company continues to expand its project portfolio, it is now seeking a Senior CAD Engineer to bring high-level 3D design expertise to its growing development team.
If you have a passion for 3D technical design, thrive on turning ideas into manufacturable products, and are confident working on dynamic, evolving projects, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.
The Role:
Joining a team of seven CAD Engineers and reporting to the Head of CAD, you'll play a key part in delivering precise and creative technical solutions. You'll work closely with project managers, sales teams, and manufacturing specialists to bring retail and POS designs to life, many of which are refined throughout the R&D phase. Flexibility, critical thinking, and proactive communication are key.
This role specifically calls for a designer with exceptional 3D capabilities. Someone who can interpret creative intent, resolve details, and translate it into clean, production-ready outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Use Autodesk Inventor to create high-quality 3D models and technical drawings
* Produce CNC cut plans using AutoCAD and tooling files using Alphacam
* Interpret internal or external briefs into cost-efficient, manufacturable solutions
* Manage material selection, manufacturing methods, and spec development for various POS and display units
* Liaise confidently with internal teams and, when required, external clients to resolve technical challenges
* Respond to evolving client briefs quickly and efficiently during the product development process
* Maintain attention to detail while handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in the POS, joinery, furniture, or plastics manufacturing industry
* Excellent 3D CAD design skills using Autodesk Inventor (this is a core requirement)
* Confident working knowledge of AutoCAD and Alphacam in a production context
* Strong numerical ability and proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Adaptable, organised, and capable of handling shifting demands and deadlines
* Positive communicator with a collaborative, solution-focused approach
What’s in It for You:
* Up to £50,000 salary based on experience
* Discretionary annual bonus
* Flexible working hours (within a Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:30 pm framework)
* A long-term, stable career in a growing and respected business
* The opportunity to work on high-profile retail and display solutions with leading brands
* Be part of a team that values innovation, attention to detail, and great design
If you're a technically-minded designer with a passion for 3D CAD and experience in product development for manufacture, this could be your next great move.
