Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Reports to: Mechanical/Process Design Lead Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will serve as the crucial link between our Project Managers, technical design disciplines, and the Construction Manager. You will act as the primary technical contact for clients, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This role also provides opportunities to manage smaller projects independently, with guidance from senior engineers. Primary Responsibilities: Manage the technical aspects of multiple projects, from design through to client sign-off, ensuring adherence to quality, timescales, and commercial requirements. Develop and enforce robust project lifecycle and quality plans. Ensure timely delivery of project deliverables that meet the client standards. Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain effective Change Control processes. Track project Risks, Issues, and Lessons Learned, maintaining up-to-date logs. Lead and participate in internal and client progress meetings. Liaise with various departments to facilitate design, manufacturing, FAT, and implementation phases. Coordinate with clients for RAMS approvals, site-specific training, access, and permits. Oversee site works, including subcontractor management, implementation, and commissioning as required. Secondary Responsibilities: Provide design support aligned with your knowledge and capabilities. Assist the Sales Office with technical planning and costing for project enquiries. Support the Head of Engineering and Projects, Delivery Managers, and Lead Engineers in their activities. Essential Skills & Qualifications: HND/Degree or equivalent, or significant experience in an engineering discipline. Clear understanding of safe working practices in hazardous areas. Strong commercial and business acumen. Proven leadership experience. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of process control principles. Ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables concurrently. Experience collaborating with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders. A broad engineering knowledge base with a willingness to learn beyond your core discipline (EC&I, Mechanical, Process, Chemical). Desirable Skills: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a structured project engineering environment. Previous experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly with UK gas suppliers/transporters. Familiarity with National Grid G17/G35, SGN PS6, and/or GL5 design processes. Why Join Us?
