Job summary
The End User estate is made up of tens of thousands of different asset types including but not limited to iPods, iPads, Desktop PCs, Laptops, Monitors, TVs, AV Equipment, Unified Comms handsets and peripherals.
The team will report into a single MSE End User Equipment lead who is the technical and operational escalation point for the team, managing day-to-day technical operations, HR admin such as A/L and sickness planning. The Unified Desktop team will work as an independent function but will be heavily integrated with other key teams across the Digital Services support functions.
This equipment is used every day to support essential clinical and non-clinical activity and therefore the provisioning and replacement of equipment must be done at a prearranged and mutually convenient time and to a high technical standard with post upgrade support to ensure hospital operations are not adversely impacted by the equipment refresh programme.
You will be expected to work across all three sites, Basildon, Broomfield and Southend Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
Fully understand and advocate the use of ITIL principles such as Change Management, Incident Management, Demand Management, Problem Management, Service Catalogue Management and Service Level Agreement Management in accordance to the local policies and procedures.
A good understanding of reporting in SCCM and SQL.
Application, Hardware and Operating System investigation testing.
Identify impact of service issues to Trust operations and react accordingly, following the escalation process/policy outlined by Management.
Supporting the Trust's end user equipment which includes but is not limited to desktop equipment, printers, scanners, mobile devices. Some of these devices are used by clinicians and therefore require a fast response/fix rate in accordance with the Trust's agreed SLAs.
Identify issues, use analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options and ensure technical research is thorough, balanced and that recommendations are logical and well thought through.

Engineers will be expected to be involved in all work relating to Windows operating system readiness and upgrades from reporting to implementation. This will involve liaising with suppliers who provide technical solutions to the Trust, reporting using tools such as SCCM and SQL, installing hardware and testing systems. Developing user and support documentation relating to the equipment refresh where end user guides do not exist, developing standard operating procedures and proposing/implementing processes. Subsequently there is a requirement for communication and documentation skills, the individual will be expected to process confidential data, use remote support applications and work within Trust Information security policies.
