Continence Nurse Specialist - Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction
Adult incontinence can occur at all stages in life and for many different reasons. It can result in a significant reduction in self-esteem, depression, and loss of independence. It can affect relationships and even an individual's employment.
As a continence specialist nurse, you can change lives through the right assessment, treatment, and management plan.
Our small, friendly Continence Team is looking for a Band 5/Band 6 registered nurse (dependent on experience) to join the team. This is an excellent developmental opportunity for a registered nurse looking to enhance their clinical skills. We will support the post holder through their development to ensure they are confident and competent in this specialist role.
If you are dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing whilst being energetic, motivated, and innovative, this could be the post for you.
The post holder will work across multiple sites and visit patients in their own homes, so candidates must have a full driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
We encourage any interested applicants to contact Diane Winchester, Clinical Lead for Long Term Conditions, and would welcome an informal visit to our base in Redhill.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating specialist continence care. They will support individuals and their families or carers in the community with the aim of optimizing patients' levels of continence, independence, and self-care.
The post holder will be the named nurse within the team for the management of those patients who are unable to attend the community continence clinics, ensuring our continence specialist service is accessible to all.
The post holder will act as an expert resource on continence care, providing training as required to other healthcare professionals.
