Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Wedding and Events Coordinator to join our events team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and experiences. As one of the primary contacts for couples and event clients, you will oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, ensuring that each occasion at Missenden Abbey is flawless and unforgettable.
As a Weddings and Events Coordinator, you will work closely with the Weddings & Events Manager and Corporate Sales Managers to ensure seamless planning, coordination, and execution of events. In this role, you will collaborate with the Weddings & Events Manager and Corporate Sales Managers to develop and implement strategic plans tailored to meet client needs, enhance guest experiences, and maximize revenue opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Client Engagement: Serve as one of the main points of contact for clients, guiding them through the planning process from initial consultation to the day of the event.
* Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate small weddings and events, including managing timelines, coordinating with suppliers, organising floor plans, and finalising event details.
* Venue Showcases: Conduct site visits and consultations, showcasing Missenden Abbey's spaces and services to potential clients and providing detailed information to help them envision their special day.
* Supplier and Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with suppliers such as venue dressers, florists, photographers, and entertainment providers to ensure seamless collaboration.
* On-the-Day Event Management: Oversee event setup and execution, troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure smooth operations.
* Sales and Bookings: Assist in achieving event sales targets by proactively converting enquiries into bookings and upselling additional services.
* Budget and Financial Management: Manage event budgets effectively, providing clients with accurate cost estimates and tracking expenses.
* Post-Event Follow-Up: Gather feedback from clients post-event to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships for potential future events.
* Public outreach - Work with the community and charities and put on profitable events for the local public to enjoy.
Key Skills and Experience
* Previous Experience: Previous experience isn't essential, but a passion for Weddings and Events is
* Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in event planning and logistics, with the ability to foresee potential issues and address them proactively.
* Time Management: Ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and irregular hours as required to meet the needs of clients.
* IT Skills: Proficiency in event management software and standard office applications (Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems).
* Driving License: A valid UK driving license is preferred due to the location and nature of the role.
