We Do Group are partnering with a fast growth, private equity backed retail business in Surrey to recruit a Transformational Head of Finance Operations. This is a critical role focused on managing a sizeable team with various complexities, including a digital transformation. This position offers the potential to really make a difference and work with some amazing leaders.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record in managing operational finance teams (AP, AR, Credit Control etc).
Wish List
* Proven experience in managing and mentoring transactional teams.
* Strong understanding of running transactional processes and the difficulties in this space.
* Experience in implementing new systems and processes to aid efficiency.
* Solid accounting knowledge (understanding of reconciliations, month-end, financial controls).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with large ERP systems (Sage).
* Availability to work on-site in Woking three times per week.
The Role
The successful Head of Finance Operations will be responsible for:
* Lead and manage a transactional finance team of 17, ensuring efficient AP, AR, Credit Control, and Cash & Bank operations.
* Oversee end-to-end financial processes, ensuring timely transactions, reconciliations, and reporting while maintaining strong financial controls.
* Drive process optimisation, automation, and digital transformation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual workload.
* Collaborate with IT, finance, and vendors to implement ERP systems, new tools, and process upgrades.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to foster a high-performance finance team culture.
* Support strategic financial planning, operational decision-making, and business alignment with finance processes.
* Ensure compliance with governance, risk management, and internal controls while managing external audit processes.
Salary & Benefits
The salary on offer is between £75,000–£85,000 + a generous bonus and benefits package, dependent on experience. This role requires on-site presence in Woking three times per week, with flexibility for remote working on other days. Candidates must be confident in working in a fast-paced environment.
