Job Description
A rare opportunity has arisen to be part of this organisation that offers competent engineering and project management. Planning, manufacture, assembly and commissioning phases of complete systems are tailored to meet the customer’s individuals.
The role is split into two parts:
1. Firstly, is the machine design/project engineer. The company have a standard range that they produce, and they require a design engineer to manage and create the relevant drawings, BOMs and drawing packs.
2. There is then the second part where a project will sit with them which will be to automate the BOM production and importing this into the ERP system.
37 hour working week

To work within the engineering department with a project manager and alongside other designers on powder handling system design.
Primary Job Responsibilities
1. Work with the Project Manager to design a powder handling system.
2. Produce engineering drawings for a range of system requirements such as plant layout, general arrangement, and detail drawings.
3. Co-ordinate with other members of the design team to work effectively on a shared project.
4. Manage design changes and workload set in place.
5. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
6. Report design issues, clashes, and challenges to the Project Manager or Head of Engineering.
7. Escalate concerns to management, especially in areas impacting risk.
8. Create and maintain comprehensive 3D models and 2D drawings.
Person Specification
1. Graduate level mechanical engineer (or similar) with a credible technical engineering background in special purpose machinery, materials handling/conveying equipment, and systems.
2. Well-developed CAD skills, including 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
3. Experience of process/project systems within the food industry.
4. Familiar with manufacturing environments and procedures including machine directive, ISO and British standards for equipment design.
5. Proven project leadership. A good open communicator.
