Hours of work: Mon – Fri (35 hours a week)
Onsite requirement: This will be a hybrid role, with 3 days per week on site.

Education required:
To be eligible for this placement you must have graduated from a UK university in the last 2 years, and be educated to degree level in politics/policy; economics, business or science.
Position Purpose:
* To support the Public Affairs team in developing UK public affairs strategies and advancing policy development in key Novartis therapy areas.
* To ensure optimal team effectiveness by enhancing team systems and compliance mechanisms, enabling team to prioritise engagement with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Enhance team compliance and efficiency through development of expert knowledge of key systems, including FUSE, BeSure, POP and SAP. Support team through coordination of memberships and sponsorships, vendor management, administration of team purchase orders, approval of materials, and event management, including stakeholder agreements. Update team guidance and onboarding documentation.
* Supporting the adoption of new ways of working and methods to enable the team to become a fully Predictive function, with particular focus on using data and insights to optimise the impact of public affairs campaigns.
* Plan and execute internal communications on behalf of team, supporting development of policy updates on Viva Engage.
* Manage coordination of key public affairs working groups (PALM, Life Sciences Policy Board and Access Evo), including coordination of agendas, team calendars, minutes & actions, team spaces.
* Coordinate selected projects in support of Public Affairs team, liaising with brand teams as appropriate.
We are looking for an individual who can meet the following criteria:
* Educated to degree level in politics/policy; economics, business or science.
* Full eligibility to work in the UK.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to flex style according to stakeholder.
* Strong intrapersonal skills and team player.
* Ability to understand and clearly communicate complex and technical topics simply and succinctly.
* Strong organisational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within a tight timeframe.
* Understanding of healthcare or policy environment, desired.
* Keen interest in politics and current affairs would be helpful.
Personal attributes required:
* Fluency in English - verbal and written – is required.
* You will be IT savvy and with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Outlook, Excel, PPT skills and Word at Advanced Level).
Additional Information:
Please ensure that you are willing and able to live within commutable distance of the company site before applying. This placement is based in White City in London and whilst we support hybrid working, we would expect the intern to be in the office at a minimum 3 days per week. You will need to be eligible to work in the UK.
