Personal assistant required to support an easy going, rugby loving 34-year-old male funded through a direct payment for 6 hours a week. To access community activities, encourage and develop social and life skills, as well as building confidence and independence away from the family home.
The individual is easy going and well liked within the community and currently works part time, something which he really enjoys. He loves sports and recently had the opportunity to play Rugby at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Other interests include listening to music, watching films and spending time with his family.
The individual has a diagnosis of Asperger's and associated learning disabilities and finds it difficult to socialise and interact with others without encouragement or support. The individual can often become anxious at times and requires support to live independently.
The main duties would include; supporting the individual to access community based activities and clubs, to explore different interests with the individual such as bike riding, encourage social interactions with others and support to develop greater confidence and independence away from the family home.
The family are very warm and welcoming and are looking for the right individual to support their son. Ideally someone with a shared interest in sports and someone to be a role model/friend to the individual.
Flexible working pattern available, however weekend, afternoon-evening work is required. Days and times can be flexible.

• To access community based activities, clubs and groups
• To socialise and encourage social interactions within the community (Going the pub, cinema, meal out etc.)
• To access his interest such as walking, bike riding, sports
• To develop greater confidence and independence away from the family home
