Position Summary
Under close supervision, the Aseptic Technician will be trained to perform procedures in compliance with Process Worksheets, Standard Operating Procedures, and policies for the filling, freeze drying, and capping of lyophilized biological products.
Hours: Nights, 12-hour shift, 6:00pm – 6:30am. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Position Responsibilities
1. Learn and practice basic aseptic procedures as per training and SOP’s.
2. Assist with reading and reporting testing results using scientific instruments.
3. Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality.
4. Learn and comply with SOP’s and associated documentation necessary to perform job functions.
5. Learn and assist in the completion of documentation including process worksheets, reports, log sheets.
6. Train in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), then demonstrate understanding and compliance.
7. Clean areas, as applicable, according to specific SOP’s
8. Assist in maintaining adequate supplies in the production area.
9. Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment. Understand and comply with safety SOP’s and procedures (Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines, Near Miss, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), biohazard training, Monthly Safety trainings, etc.) May be required to handle hazardous waste.
10. Demonstrate the ability to perform mathematical calculations and metric conversions.
11. Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills within and outside the department using verbal, written, and non-verbal skills.
12. Become certified operator of electric material handling equipment (i.e., electric pallet jack, tank tugger, etc.), as applicable.
13. Perform supplemental duties as assigned by supervision.
Education and Experience
14. High School graduate or equivalent
15. Demonstrate basic mechanical skills.
16. Demonstration of personal computer usage
17. Minimum of 5 years BPM Aseptic Experience/or prior Lead experience
