Overview:
IMS is a specialist lifting and mechanical handling contractor that delivers equipment, technology and integrated engineering services to the global energy industry. The main purpose of the role is to perform rigging activities and mechanical fitting as directed by client representatives and in compliance with the relevant Company and client standards and procedures.
We are currently seeking a skilled Rigger/Fitter to join our team in handling various rigging tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in assembling and fabricating structures, possess basic maths skills, and be proficient in using hand and power tools.
Main responsibilities
* Assist in the development of lifting plans for complex lifts.
* Assist in site surveys and provide advice on equipment selection and use.
* Supervise complicated and complex lifting operations as required.
* Provide technical advice to client Site Representative.
* Carry out lifting duties as required.
* Inspect and issue equipment from site rigging loft.
* Provide support to Company LOLER Site Competent Person.
* Undertake other works as directed by client representatives on duties unrelated to rigging operations, including emergency duties deemed to be within your competence.
* Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair rigging/mechanical equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
* Perform stick MIG/TIG welding and sheet metal work.
* Operate power tools for cutting, drilling, and shaping materials.
HSEQ responsibilities
* It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of IMS Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
* The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
