The Stores Person / Driver (SPD) will carry out such stores and driving duties as directed by the Head of Purchasing & Contracts, as delegated to Stores and Distribution Manager, Stores Team Leader or Warehouse Supervisor(s) Duties will be divided between in the Central Distribution Stores and on the road deliveries. Responsible for the accurate picking of orders for WMAS sites, sorting of mail, packages and stock for all designated locations, including drugs and medicines. Operation of IT equipment and software (with training) to maintain an accurate stock control system, including MS office and warehouse management programs Responsible for the receipt/storage/issue of all items into and out of the Central Distribution Centre Responsible for the collection and delivery of stock, equipment and mail from designated locations throughout the Trust area Responsible for the collection and delivery of ID cards Responsible for the collection and delivery of items of uniform Responsible for the delivery of stock to various Trust locations and putting them away Responsible for the transportation of financial documents for storage Responsible for the transportation of Ambulance equipment. Responsible for the transportation and portering of furniture, office equipment, desks, filing cabinets, chairs, fridges, etc Responsible as the driver for maintenance of vehicle i.e., daily checks of lubricants, coolants, lights, indicators, brakes, windscreen wipers/washers, horn, tyres, refuelling etc. Reporting any faults as necessary. Responsible for the maintenance of the interior and exterior of the vehicle being kept in a clean condition, ensuring the serviceability of vehicle equipment Required to maintain a valid driving licence. Required to undertake manual handling training using appropriate equipment on which you have been trained Required to undertake manual handling tasks manually or using appropriate equipment i.e., vehicle tail-lift, sack trucks, trolleys, manual and powered pallet trucks Required to adhere to a pre-arranged route programme and utilise the most cost effective and economical routes to provide a cost-effective service across the Trust area Responsible for the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times Required to undertake any training as deemed necessary for the fulfilment of the duties of this post. Work in accordance with all Trust policies and procedures, necessary to ensure that the Service complies with the requirements of the Quality Management Systems, Health and Safety at Work Policy and Procedures within the Code of Practice and the Data Protection Act. Willing to work flexibly, providing cover during periods of leave, sickness and Bank Holidays with the ability to respond to urgent requests for out of hours needs of the Service. After appropriate training, responsible for delivery and collection of Controlled Drugs and POMS to authorised WMAS sites Responsible for accurate stock control and drugs control records **Please be aware of the following within this role** There is a high frequency and repetition of tasks such as: Bending to floor height and reaching to overhead height to pick boxes and items, can include use of step stool or platform steps Twisting/turning and bending to place items in roll cages and/or to refill shelving Moving of empty and loaded roll cages (push/pull) around warehouse and onto vehicles Picking from upstairs mezzanine floor area to include carrying loaded boxes to/from mezzanine Manual lifting of tail lift on vehicles, use of tail lift can include stepping up onto raised platform Loading and use of manual operation trolleys to move goods around, can be on uneven ground when out at sites Access/egress of delivery vehicles (step up, can be restrictive access when out at sites) Some sites have multiple steps and staircases involved in delivery We do not have any individual item above 20kg, but there are some items that require a two man lift that can in excess of this weight.
