We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to supervise a dedicated team of social workers within the Connected People Fostering Team.
To manage the delivery and operation of a range of high quality, cost-effective social care services by effective management of staff, supervision of practice, setting standards and promoting and participating in joint working with partners and other agencies.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage an area of operational service through clear aims and objectives to meet the assessed priority needs of vulnerable individuals within the parameters of legislation, good practice, and Council policy.
2. Authorise and monitor expenditure against budget provision for care/support to vulnerable individuals/groups in accordance with Council policy and financial regulations.
3. Recruit, deploy, manage and develop professional and other staff in accordance with relevant Council or partner policies to secure the highest standards of service delivery.
4. Manage staff performance, conduct, attendance and risk in accordance with the relevant Policies, setting the culture to promote high professional standards and deliver best value services.
5. Identify and manage risk for service users through the application of risk assessment techniques, appropriate intervention in complex cases and compliance with Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people and to meet the expectations of carers and the general public.
6. Work or liaise with partners, other agencies, service users and their carers to ensure the coordination and delivery of integrated services which comply with relevant legislation, best practice and promote user centered services.
7. Participate in local and countywide service developments including planning, control, monitoring, review and evaluation activities to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
8. Ensure the full and correct use of all information systems to provide relevant information to meet County, Department and statutory requirements including the development and implementation of recording systems to monitor and evaluate work.
9. Respond to formal and informal complaints made by or on behalf of service users by application of the County complaints procedures to ensure speedy resolution and the application of appropriate learning to professional practice.
