Role: Application Analyst
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office)

The Role
The Product Development team plays a pivotal role in delivering the overall digital experience for customers, consumers and colleagues underpinning the Rightmove business. We recognise that to deliver the best products and features for our consumers, customers and colleagues we need to work effectively as a healthy, high performing team. We work collaboratively across a mix of product and centralised teams, together working towards Rightmove’s strategy.
The Senior Application Analyst is a key member of the Internal Operations Team, delivering digital solutions to support Rightmove’s internal teams. As part of a SCRUM product team, they collaborate with the Product Owner, Software Engineers, QA Engineer, and Application Analysts to analyze business challenges, design effective solutions, and contribute to product discovery. This role focuses on understanding processes, addressing business needs and delivering solutions through low-code development and configuration of business applications—both third-party and in-house developed by Rightmove.
Additionally, the Senior Application Analyst provides technical guidance and fosters best practices within the Internal Operations team, supporting the development of Application Analysts. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, they also contribute to architectural discussions, ensuring existing tools remain effective amid evolving technology initiatives while aligning solutions with Rightmove’s broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and support the team of Application Analysts within Internal Operations, providing direction, driving best practices, and ensuring consistency in solution development and system management
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
3. Provide recommendations on low-code solution design, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business goals.
4. Understand the challenges and problems faced on the roadmap, contributing to architectural discussions and recommendations to support new initiatives.
5. Configuring and implementing change within third-party systems to align with long-term strategic initiatives.
6. Utilising low-code tools to design and implement solutions that automate manual tasks.
7. Developing business process applications and workflows to streamline and manage internal processes effectively.
8. Assist with the integration of third-party platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability with existing systems.
9. Assessing the impact of system migrations, evaluating alternative solutions and providing recommendations that balance cost, effort, and long-term maintainability to support introduction of new technology initiatives.
10. Work closely with new and existing suppliers, as well as solutions partners, to understand their product capabilities and evaluate their potential to address business challenges, ensuring the delivery of effective and valuable solutions.
11. Translate business requirements into actionable specifications for solution partners, supporting the development of tailored solutions within their platform to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
12. Experience as a Senior Application Analyst, Low-Code Technical Specialist, or similar role, with a deep technical foundation in designing, configuring, and supporting business applications (such as ERP, CRM or HRIS).
13. Proven expertise in low-code development and configuration platforms, with a track record of delivering scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions.
14. Demonstrated experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams, fostering knowledge sharing, and promoting best practices within an application development environment.
15. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues, propose effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
16. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate effectively across teams.
17. A proactive mindset with a passion for both hands-on technical delivery and enhancing team capabilities through coaching and process improvements.
Ideally we're looking for someone who has
18. Hasa history ofimproving internal processes and driving operational efficiency.
19. Has experience configuring and optimizing ERP systems, such as Oracle Netsuite or SAP.
20. Understands BPMN and can effectively produce and implement workflows to optimise business processes.
21. Can build automations using tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
22. Has experience of using collaborations tools such as Confluence and JIRA or similar.
23. Has previously worked in an Agile or Scrum team.
