Overview Inhabit Hotel is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cluster Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and engineering operations across our properties. This role requires a strong leader with technical expertise, a commitment to safety and compliance, and a passion for sustainability. Key Responsibilities · Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance. · Ensure all maintenance requests and issues are addressed promptly and effectively to minimize guest disruption and maintain high service standards. · Collaborate with the front desk and housekeeping teams to promptly address and resolve any maintenance issues reported by guests. · Uphold the hotel’s luxury brand standards in all maintenance activities, ensuring the property’s appearance and functionality exceed guest expectations. · Maintain the mechanical and electrical services, architectural content and decorative finishes to the existing high standards. · Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the property’s equipment and facilities are well-maintained and in optimal working condition. · Leading and managing maintenance teams as well as external contractors to enable safe, efficient and effective. · Monitor and control maintenance expenses, including labour, materials, and contracted services. · Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts, ensuring the availability of critical items. · Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they deliver high-quality work in a timely manner. · Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth. · Ensure that the team adheres to all hotel policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations. · Ensure the property complies with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building safety, fire codes, and environmental standards. · Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks. · Coordinate with external inspectors and service providers to ensure all certifications and inspections are up to date. · Keep detailed records of maintenance projects, expenses, and any issues that arise. · Implement and monitor energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact. · Analyse energy consumption patterns and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency without compromising guest comfort. · Leads the emergency response team along with the General Manager during crisis. Working Conditions: · This position may require working in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions. · The role may also require being on-call for emergencies outside of regular working hours. Essential Skills and Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred. · Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment. · Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems. · Excellent leadership and team management skills. · Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs. · Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented approach. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and external vendors. · Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. · Proficient in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools. · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
