As a Pension Investments Analyst, you will be part of GSK's Corporate Treasury department, based at GSK's Head Office in London. You will provide support to the Global Pension Investments team, which oversees the investment and financial risk management strategy for GSK's pension schemes around the world, in accordance with Company policies.
The team has a particular focus on the pension arrangements in the UK and US, covering both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes. In addition, the team oversees DB pension schemes in the largest Rest of World markets.
The team manages the investment committee meetings for the UK and US pension plans, as well as the Company's Pension and Risk Committee (which is chaired by the CFO).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a keen individual, with excellent analytical and project management skills, to develop their experience within Pension Investments in a Global role. You will gain exposure to senior stakeholders such as the CFO, Group Treasurer, Trustees and other Senior Committee members around the world. Furthermore, this role will offer an insight into the pension investment landscape, including capital market dynamics, and also provide opportunities to engage with advisors (investment consultants, actuaries, lawyers), fund managers and banks.
In this role you will
* Implement decisions related to investment strategy and risk management, which can include complex one-off transactions, working in close collaboration with other in-house teams while developing / maintaining project plans.
* Manage the transition of assets between different investment fund managers and / or asset classes, including cash forecasting and making timely divestments to meet ongoing operational cash requirements.
* Prepare quarterly, as well as ad-hoc, data reports to GSK's senior management and investment committees. As well as providing support in relation to the production of corporate and pension plan accounting standards.
* Review data, analysis and advice provided by external parties to GSK, including monitoring investment fund manager performance.
* Monitor investment markets, such as equity and bond performance, and their impact on the financial position of the pension schemes.
* Attend committee meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action lists. Partnering with and challenging other teams to ensure timely deliverables, while also managing / maintaining meeting governance and documentation.

* Part qualified finance professional or equivalent experience.
* Excellent numeracy, strong attention to detail and an ability to analyse and dissect complex financial data.
* Excellent project management skills, with experience managing conflicting deadlines by anticipating workflow levels in advance and managing multiple / changing priorities for different stakeholders.
* Willingness to challenge existing procedures in order to provide high quality analysis on a timely basis.
* Adaptable to inherent uncertainty and ambiguity in certain decision-making processes.
* Collaborative approach and able to forge strong relationships with other teams and external contacts to build trust, with the ability to confidently liaise with and approach senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:
* Relevant work experience within Treasury, Finance, Pensions or an Investment role.
* High-level knowledge of the characteristics of different investment classes (e.g. equities, bonds, property, cash).
* Advanced in Excel.
* Basic proficiency in using Bloomberg.
