Administrator – Burton - £13.05 per hour – Temporary Are you an experienced Administrator? Have you worked in the public sector? Are you able to be flexible with your hours? What’s the Opportunity? We are looking for an Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative and professional support to the Committees of the Council, Council Members, and various functions within Democratic Services. This role involves a wide range of duties, including meeting coordination, processing decision-making records, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and supporting the effective operation of Council processes. What you’ll be doing as an Administrator, but not limited to; Attending Council Committee meetings and provide administrative support, including the audio recording and streaming of meetings Producing and publishing agendas, minutes, and other decision-making documents on the relevant committee software (e.g., Corporate website, Member intranet) Providing advice and administrative support to assist Council Members in decision-making processes Managing the processing of FOI requests and maintain the FOI database Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations relating to FOI requests Assisting the Principal Democratic Services Officer in coordinating responses to corporate complaints and those dealt with by the Local Government Ombudsman Maintaining and updating the register of Members' Interests, including the register of Gifts and Hospitality and the register of Parish Council’s Interests Assisting the Principal Democratic Services Officer in coordinating the out-of-hours emergency telephone operation Supporting the Principal Democratic Services Officer in the performance of their duties and deputise in their absence Supporting Resilience Planning activities and ensure the Council’s obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act are met Keys skills and attributes as an Administrator to include: Experience in a similar administrative or democratic services role Knowledge of Council procedures, statutory obligations, and governance processes Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive information with discretion Knowledge of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation IT proficiency, including the use of committee management software and standard office applications What’s in it for you as an Administrator?
