An independent asset management firm specializing in alternative investments is looking for a Financial Controller Assistant. The firm's core values include high-quality independent research, due diligence, and operational expertise. The firm launched an Alternative UCITS platform aimed at bringing high-quality offshore managers into the UCITS space. Today, the firm offers: Bespoke Solutions, the UCITS Platform, and Funds of Alternative Funds.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Finance Activities:
* Complete monthly accounting journals for all relevant entities.
* Produce board packs according to stakeholder specifications.
* Update and have the ICARA signed off in board meetings.
* Enter purchase and sales invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner.
* Track receivables and invoice third parties for shared costs and recharges.
* Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
* Create and update budgets and forecasts with the latest projections.
* Assist with cash projections to advise directors on dividends.
* Reconcile investment seeding management.
* Manage insurances and supervise corporate invoice approvals and processing.
* Oversee monthly/weekly supplier and staff expenses payment runs.
* Supervise corporate cash management and the process of payments, monitoring, and reconciliation of various fees to third-party managers, investors, and distribution agents.
* Reconcile travel and entertainment expenses/receipts for non-directors monthly.
Compliance/Regulatory and Tax Returns:
* Complete quarterly VAT returns and tax returns for all relevant entities.
* Submit FCA returns and national statistics returns.
Payroll and HR Accounting:
* Ensure monthly payroll processing for all staff members.
* Complete HR returns such as PSA and P11d's.
* Manage pension processing for all staff members.
* Complete employment securities returns where applicable.
Audit Process Management:
* Host audit planning meetings and track deliverables.
* Review and update statutory accounts.
* Monitor changes to accounts and update notes.
* Ensure timely filing of accounts with relevant authorities.
Required Background and Skills:
* Experience and strong knowledge of FCA regulations.
* Superior attention to detail and proficiency with Excel.
* A proactive, self-starting attitude with strong analytical skills.
* Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office programs and Sage Accounting.
Please note this position is part-time - 4 days required with 2 days in the office.
