Job Vacancy: Teaching Assistant 1:1 Location: Exeter Contract: Part-time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience. (£14.45 - £15.20) About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Exeter. This is a part-time, term-time position where you will provide tailored support to a student with specific learning or emotional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that the student receives the support required to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant: Provide one-on-one support to a student, assisting with learning, behavior, and personal development. Support the student in accessing the curriculum and help with any challenges they may face. Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans and monitor progress. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes independence and confidence Support the student during social and emotional development, helping to build resilience Assist with the management of behavior in the classroom, ensuring a calm and supportive atmosphere. Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the student. We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children, preferably in a 1:1 or SEN (Special Educational Needs) role. Understanding of the needs of children with learning difficulties or additional support needs. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with teachers and parents. A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for supporting children's development Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential.
