Childcare Practitioner - The Role:
We provide high-quality, affordable extended childcare services for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. You will contribute to the goals and objectives of the service while assisting the management team in organising a premier establishment that upholds exceptional standards of childcare and education. Our primary focus is to offer an environment that fosters the educational, physical, cultural, and emotional development of the children in our care. As a practitioner, you will facilitate opportunities for parents and children to build relationships, enhance self-esteem, and cultivate resourcefulness through the provision of tailored support.
Main Duties:
1. To promote the high standards of the service at all times to parents, staff and visitors.
2. To keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's life.
3. To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
4. To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures, and medical histories.
Childcare Practitioner - What we need from you:
We are looking for practitioners who are positive, fervent, and passionate about childcare. If you are a team player, with a caring and kindly personality, who is dependable and accountable and able to build close relationships with children and their families then we want to hear from you.
Essential:
1. Educated to level 3 or above with a recognised professional qualification in early years education or equivalent experience of supplying a programme of care and play activities for children from birth to 5 years in a nursery or similar setting.
2. Have proven organisational skills.
3. Have knowledge and understanding of current legislature and best practice documents.
In addition, you will need to be flexible and resourceful, with a strong commitment to delivering first-class childcare. All staff and volunteers are expected to demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding children and young people within their work. Successful applicants will be required to meet the criteria for registration with Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and the Scottish Social Services Council.
