We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to be based at our customer site in Eggborough, Goole. As part of this busy transport operation, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re offering a salary of up to £40,000 per annum. Additionally, we provide 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with options to buy extra days. You’ll also have access to high street discounts, a salary sacrifice car scheme, cycle to work scheme, workplace pension, and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. Lead the Transport Operation, demonstrating XPO core values
2. Ensure safe, legal compliance and efficient execution of transport operations, meeting SLA's/KPI's
3. Gather transport operations feedback using ‘Plan, Do, Review’ and compare Plan vs Actual for daily team meetings
4. Maintain driver and fleet legal compliance according to Operator Licensing standards
5. Take full responsibility for operator license requirements, supported by CPC-qualified colleagues
6. Foster an environment promoting idea sharing and best practices, benefiting the network and customer, including gainshare initiatives
7. Manage operational costs and identify trends, such as fuel performance and accidents
8. Drive the transport team and operation to deliver projects and initiatives, collaborating with the contract CI manager
9. Focus on QHSE performance, working with the QHSE Manager to implement improvements
10. Ensure all processes and procedures are followed for a safe and efficient environment
11. Provide leadership and guidance to the transport team, setting objectives and encouraging open communication, feedback, and engagement
12. Manage all ER cases at the site level with HR support, ensuring timely resolution
What you need to succeed at XPO:
1. Experience in building high-performing teams
2. Management experience in large, fast-paced transport operations
3. Strong leadership skills to motivate and engage at all levels
4. Knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, Health & Safety, fleet compliance, RTD & WTD directives
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with good attention to detail
6. Strong decision-making skills, responsibility, and accountability
7. Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally
8. International and National CPC certification is essential
9. IOSH certification
