Job Description
What you’ll do
The Management Accountant plays a crucial role in our finance team by providing insightful and timely financial analysis, reporting, and support to facilitate decision-making and safeguard the financial health of our organisation. This role is responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, conducting variance analysis, preparing business review packs, forecasts, annual budget and other reporting requirements for a pre-determined CCH Group reporting region.
Financial Reporting
Prepare management accounts for designated regions, covering profit and loss, KPI, and trend analysis within set timelines. Collaborate with teams across finance, payroll, and ledgers to ensure accurate transaction recording and monitoring, while analysing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Provide insights into financial results to support decision-making and present branch performance to senior management monthly. Lead in helping Regional and Branch Managers understand P&L and contract profitability, assist with monthly finance reports, and work with IT/Operations to automate reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Work with Branch and Regional Managers on annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor budget vs. actual performance, provide variance analysis, and promote financial ownership and improvement among stakeholders.
Ad-hoc
Mentor junior/trainee Management Accountants, liaise with auditors during annual audits, submit required forms to the National Statistics Office, support ad-hoc projects, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and legislation.
Qualifications
What you need
Essential requirements include being a part or newly qualified Accountant with experience in finance roles that involve year-end processes through to statutory account preparation. A strong understanding of financial management principles is required, along with the ability to work effectively both within a team and on independent projects. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency in VLookups and pivot tables, are essential, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The role demands strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail, coupled with a high level of organization to anticipate workload impact and prioritize tasks effectively. A commitment to continued personal development is important, as is the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all business levels. The ideal candidate will also have a drive for continuous improvement and efficiency in reporting.
