Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with the cleaning and tidying of the kitchen and dining areas.
2. Ensuring all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
3. Helping to prepare food items as required.
4. Supporting the kitchen staff with general duties to ensure smooth daily operations.
5. Maintaining hygiene standards and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Tidying:
1. Ensure all kitchen areas (including floors, counters, and equipment) are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
2. Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchenware promptly and thoroughly.
3. Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, surfaces, and appliances regularly.
4. Empty bins and ensure waste is disposed of correctly, in line with school waste disposal protocols.
5. Ensure the correct use and storage of cleaning products, adhering to safety guidelines.
Supporting Food Preparation:
1. Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as directed.
2. Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and safely.
3. Help prepare ingredients for cooking, such as washing, peeling, or chopping vegetables.
4. Assist with serving food during busy periods, ensuring meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
Hygiene and Health & Safety:
1. Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations to ensure the kitchen operates safely.
2. Follow school guidelines for food safety and cleanliness.
3. Assist with stock control by ensuring food and cleaning supplies are replenished as necessary.
4. Ensure that all areas of the kitchen are free from hazards, and report any potential safety issues to the Catering Manager.
Team Support:
1. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
2. Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing stock.
3. Be flexible and ready to take on additional duties when required.
General Duties:
1. Support the preparation of school events and functions, helping the catering team where needed.
2. Ensure that all work is carried out promptly to avoid delays in meal service.
3. Maintain a positive attitude, working harmoniously within the kitchen team.
