SALARY- £50,000 to £65,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Premier Engineering is seeking a Compliance Manager with expertise in machinery to join a well-established company in Biggleswade. This role is essential in ensuring all products and processes comply with regulatory standards, driving safety, quality, and performance across the business.
The Compliance Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
* Proven experience in compliance or quality management within the machinery sector
* Strong knowledge of machinery directives, CE/UKCA marking, and safety standards such as PUWER or ATEX
* Familiarity with ISO standards, particularly ISO 9001, and other regulatory frameworks
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience in risk assessment, audits, and certification processes
* A detail-oriented and proactive approach to work
The Compliance Manager role will involve:
* Overseeing compliance efforts to ensure all machinery meets standards
* Managing certification processes and liaising with regulatory bodies
* Conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols for machinery
* Developing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and technical documentation
* Leading internal and external audits to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory requirements
* Providing training and guidance on compliance-related topics to staff
* Monitoring updates in legislation and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance
* Collaborating with design and production teams to embed compliance in all stages of the product lifecycle
