Commissioning Engineer
The Opportunity
Due to successful appointment to a new Framework, we are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Infrastructure - Water South team to work on sites situated in and around Devon with the office being based in Exeter.
You will be an integral part of the Project Team and will assist in the effective and efficient commissioning management of the process, mechanical & electrical aspects of various Waste Water Projects for South West Water.
What you will be doing
1. Review tender documentation in terms of design / commission ability and prepare all necessary submission documentation in relation to commissioning / handover on tenders
2. Assist in carrying out comprehensive commissioning review at design stage – review mechanical and electrical specifications / drawings / schematics / equipment selections / technical submittals and highlight any potential installation / commissioning issues
3. Assist in preparing commissioning procedures.
4. Assist & Prepare detailed commissioning plans and strategies
5. Liaise with project teams which will include designers, sub-contractors and client representatives
6. Attend commissioning meetings with the extended project teams
7. Review sub-contractor commissioning method statements and comment as necessary
8. Assist & Preparing weekly progress reports / monthly status reports, highlighting any potential issues
9. Visit sites prior to planned commissioning to ensure that installations are ready for commissioning and to review ITP sign off
10. Assist in organising and facilitating client witnessing of successful commissioning
11. Organise any required sampling to show functionality of installed assets
12. Assisting & liaise with site operations and scientist to ensure compliance / sign off. Collate all mechanical and electrical commissioning documentation for O&M manuals
13. Assisting & organising and facilitating training including recording attendance
14. Attend / report / rectify any commissioning / snagging issues post practical completion throughout the defect’s liability period.
What we will need from you
1. Will be personable with good communication skills
2. Knowledge of commissioning within the waste water sector
3. Good computer skills
4. Willing to travel
5. Pro-active/can do attitude
6. Professional qualification is desirable
7. SMSTS safety qualification
8. CSCS card
