Main duties of the job
In this role, you will enhance support for newly qualified midwives, return-to-practice learners, and early career midwives, focusing on retention and pastoral care alongside our dedicated ward managers, practice educators, and professional midwifery advocates (PMA). As an expert clinical practitioner, you will lead the integration of evidence-based practices within midwifery.
Your responsibilities will include providing specialized information using motivational interviewing techniques to support staff retention and development, developing collaborative relationships with regional retention teams, and informing and evaluating the national retention offer for midwives. You will also provide or signpost resources that promote job satisfaction and retention across multiple domains, monitor the impact of interventions on staff experience indicators, and participate in learning activities locally and nationally. Qualifications
* Registered midwife with significant post-registration experience.
* Post graduate degree at Master level or working towards.
* Commitment to professional development and evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Teaching qualification.
* Recognised management / leadership qualification (or working towards).
