The role will be a mix of working from their Camden offices and various sites typically working on “external works” on social housing projects with around 20 blocks of flats worth around £9m per year including roofing, brickwork, concrete and windows/doors etc for Camden Council. You will need to have a proven track record in social housing / external works. Job Role: Responsible for large volumes of sales within a location. Meeting and exceeding forecasts for profit & WIP targets. Ensure that tenders are progressed to provide an accurate basis for pricing to allow sufficient time for the Branch Manager / Commercial team to give them consideration. Monitor the weekly and monthly cost information and ensure accurate production of monthly valuations. Maintain strong relationships with customers in order to grow existing contracts and identify opportunities for new business. Exercise commercial judgement to prevent financial or other loss. Maintain a site presence and ensure commercial information is a true reflection of the position. Responsible for the continued development of Trainee / Assistant Surveyors. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the role: Understand H&S requirements of tenders and contracts. Responsible for accurate production or estimates. Reviewing of contracts/tender documents. Understanding Cost base and productions levels. Develop and maintain specialist sub-contractor and supplier contacts. Provide guidance and advice on contractual disputes. Assist Branch and Regional Managers with portfolio analysis focusing on WiP reduction, under-performing contracts, retention release, branch profitability. Identify and improve performance of commercial projects not performing adequately and assist improving performance. Oversee large-scale applications for price increases, to ensure BCIS (TPI's) have been captured in the calculation of equation. Negotiation of final accounts, dispute resolution, and all contractual matters of high value clients. Participate in negotiation with clients in agreement of rebate levels, based on commercial quantitative data. Ensure employees remain motivated and engaged with the business. Monitor strike rate at branch and surveyor level targeting a minimum of 33% win ratio. Conform to the bid strategy in particularly for Existing Clients, Contracts with high proportion of self- delivery, and New Clients.
